"I llke staying at this hotel as it very quiet and not over crowded like the London Road branch. I was fined £60 at the London Road branch for just enquiring if they had a room that evening which they had'nt so I will never stay there again Regards Peter C. Locke"

"This inn is basic and without pretense. It is clean and well maintained. There is a pub across the parking lot called The Mermaid which share employees with the inn. The people here are fanastic, always genuinely smiling and friendly."

"A very welcomed arrival, receptionist was lovely and pleasant. Couldn’t have asked for more, the rooms were perfect, we were given a free upgrade to a newly refurbished room which was a lovely unexpected extra and very welcomed. The spa was great, and the food in the restaurant was well above average, all expectations were truly exceeded. Would definitely recommend! "

"We have stayed at The Victory three times now, it is very convenient if you want to go out for food around West Mersea and don't want to worry about driving. Plus it is close to the seafront walk of West Mersea Beach. Rooms are very clean, plus you have the advantage that they are part of a pub, therefore the ability to step down for a drink or food at any point."

"Perfectly placed in town with allocated parking. Friendly greeting on arrival and no surprises when entering the room. Unfortunately the room opposite was being used by restaurant guests as a toilet and attracted a couple of groups that were a bit loud but it did not overly affect the view of the stay. TV was in an awful position as it was impacted by the post of the bed and the light in the fridge was a bit annoying during the night as I’m a lite sleeper. Nice and clean, water and soft drinks...

"We were the only guests Limited staff Despite being only guests we couldn’t extend our departure We had wanted to stay until closer to midday as we were attending a midday funeral but house keeping needed to clean room for later incoming guests In the end we sat in Costa to kill time"

"Excellent stay..friendly welcome & most professional service. Lovely 'Large Superior" room and a quality but somewhat pricey dinner. Log fires in the lounges and surrounded by beautiful & historic art and furniture. Would highly recommend fot a short Winter break."
