"Let me start out by saying getting to the Hotel is not the easiest. The hotel will send you a message telling you to call when you get to the area and they will guide you in a GPS will not navigate inside the city. "The hotel is in a great location to explore Matera, and some of the rooms are in actual caves (it's a great experience for a night or two) without windows. These rooms are very nice and have a good spacious shower. Some rooms are not in the check-in building and so a walk down some stone steps may be required. "

"Bright and modern hotel with excellent gated parking and helpful, friendly staff. Breakfast is also good - we loved the yogurts and selection of seeds / fried fruits etc. Its 45 minutes walk from the centre of Matera (there are also local buses, or the hotel can call you a taxi) - It’s an easy and well lit walk, just follow Google maps. We were happy to walk and not be concerned about parking (which is a real headache in the centre of Matera)"

The property is actually spread out over several nearby structures, which adds to the overall appeal. Breakfast was in a modified cave and was a very good buffet. Service overall excellent, especially Mikhail, Katarina, and the breakfast staff."
