"Fantastic location, really welcoming staff. I had requested a high floor and this was accommodated, I had a lovely view of the monument from my pillow and the room was quiet and warm. It was looking tired around the edges however and there was only a plug socket at one side of the bed which was inconvenient. Hotel info (wifi, check out time etc) was on the inside of the key card but this wasn’t point out and unfortunately we missed it until we collected it to return on check out. Tea and coffee...

"The drive up to the hotel was stunning , We loved the old style of the hotel absolutely beautiful. Our room 169 was very spacious and welcoming. "Really enjoyed my stay. Reception staff excellent, gave us a room upgrade on arrival and were generally very helpful. Room was clean and breakfast very nice. Was great to be able to park the car and get the tram into town. Ordered room service for a treat and was left disappointed. Charged £100 for 2 burgers, 2 cokes and a sauce. Fair enough room service is expensive and I probably would have paid it anyway but charges were unclear. Food arrived cold (no closhes used). Burger buns were hard....

"Excellent customer service and very lovely hotel. Totally enjoyed my stay. It was very relaxing and I highly recommend. Got upgraded to a vista room and had a lovely view of Princes street. Even though I extended my stay to a smaller room, I was still allowed to stay in the same upgraded room for the rest of my stay and given a discount! Complimentary minibar in the room with drinks and snacks topped up everyday. Thanks for a very lovely stay. Highly recommend"
