"Airlie Beach and the Whitsundays is a great destination. Sea Star apartments have fantastic views. But the property itself is pretty basic and the interiors are quite dated. While it is listed (e.g. on Google Maps) as a 4 star hotel, it is in fact a set of apartments with few of the amenities that one would expect in a hotel. If you have a car and are used to self catering, it’s fine. But without a car, you have to rely on taxis from the center of town. Walking down the steep hill is no problem,...

"The view was very nice! The unit we were in needs new painting. Sofa needs replacement. Bathroom needs to be upgraded."

"What a great place to stay, the cabin we had was clean, beds were great, kitchen is well supplied. Bus stop is very close. Also within walking distance of restaurants."

"Nice, spacious apartments with large balconies and pool area as well as a lovely view on the ocean side. The apartments were mostly clean but there was dust collected on photos and some furniture. Not walking distance to town but no big deal if you have a car. "

"It was an older resort but was fabulous for viewing the marina and downtown area and a 5 minute walk down the steep hill to get to all the fun. The walk back up the hill took 12 minutes lol. Beautiful penthouse condo, extremely well done and we hated to leave. The other people staying there were very friendly."
