"Had a great family holiday with 2 adults and 2 teenagers. Rooms were great and very quiet with comfy beds. Great selection at buffet breakfast and so nice to sit by the aquarium. Kayaking, snorkeling, nature trails and lots of day tours as well as relaxing by the pool. Only fault is the menu for lunch and dinner. It didn’t change, even the specials, and we got bored of the food quite quickly. We also were stung with the fish we caught ourselves - $35/ea to cook it and only 2 of our 4 ate it....

"I have been coming to Hayman Island for 30+ years and stayed in a variety of rooms over the years. The beach villa we stayed at has been slightly renovated, but is still tiered. The wall switches for the electric blinds and fans work only intermittently. . There were other peoples bags in our room when we arrived which was very “off putting” and each time we wanted ice it took 3 times to get it. "Palm Bay Resort, located in the stunning Whitsundays on Long Island, offers surreal views and a peaceful atmosphere. I recently spent 7 days there with my son and loved the convenient location, just a 15-minute water taxi ride from Airlie Beach. While the serene setting is perfect for relaxation, the lack of activities on the island made it less engaging for my active teenager. The food was excellent, but I was disappointed that housekeeping wasn’t done daily. This resort has great potential...

"We stayed in the bungalows. They were no frills but met our needs. We had a maintenance issue that took a couple of days to resolve but they did fix it. The staff was nice, a little frantic at times but fun. Definitely rent a cart (buggy) and make restaurant reservations in advance or there wont be any when you get there. The Wallaby's grazed just feet from our front porch. Once in a lifetime!!! "

"A nice hotel which we enjoyed staying at. The staff are very friendly and helpful. We also enjoyed the continental breakfast of cereals, juice, croissants, breads, yogurt, and fruits. Nice view from our room and breakfast area. Pools were very pretty, but we did not use as we were swimming in the ocean all the time. It’s a little out of the main area of town, maybe 10 minutes walking. There is a local bus which cost 1 Australian dollar to use all day if you don’t want to walk. Only issue we had...

"Beautiful property , nice rooms, access to beach and pool. Breakfast was great each morning and location was prime. They had a free shuttle to anywhere on the island which helped when our legs were tired after a long day snorkeling. Wallabies were walking right around the property which made for a magical Aussie trip. Definitely would book here again!"

"While it was comfortable and clean, it lacked soul. There was only ever a receptionist, who was helpful. The other staff were tradies or cleaners. There was no vending machine, bar or cafe on site. Look, it wasn't bad, just soulless."

"Communication was excellent and felt very welcome upon arrival. Bathrooms need updating, bath is too high for middle aged with bad hips/knees to step into for shower. Great location and view. Very affordable."

"We really appreciate the last minute accommodation as our flights from Hamilton Island were canceled due to bad weather. The room we had was spacious, clean and the staff checked in on us in case we needed anything. The room was well equipped and a great location - close to the ferry building and the local shops/restaurants! "

A nice place to visit.

"Hamilton Island is a beautiful place to visit. The island is small, and the free shuttle around it is useful. It is a pricey destination, but the room is very nice. The room is fully equipped with a kitchen so if you would want to get provisions before arriving to cut down on costs a bit, you certainly could. We had a short stay, so we did not get a chance to visit all the beaches, but did enjoy the ones we did. Loved seeing the wallabies, parrots, bats, and cockatoos that roam freely on the island. The snorkeling off Catseye beach was decent, I’d recommend going far out if you are a confident swimmer. There are also pools, ping pong, bowling , and free use of non motorized equipment at the beach ( only saw kayaks, but they probably had other things, we snorkeled so didn’t use them) All in all very nice for a short stay. For a long stay I would pick Airlie Beach as you have more options on things to do."
