"We had a lovely few days at the Apex Grassmarket, perfect hotel and location for a city break in Edinburgh right in the heart of the town close to the castle, bars, pubs, restaurants, sightseeing and more!"

However the building itself is in need of more care… chipped paintwork, marks on hallway walls and the hairdryers are either from the 1980s or extremely cheap (the one in my room smelt of burning and then blew its fuse within less than 30 seconds)."

"We enjoyed our stay at the hotel, but the layout is not very guest friendly! Where bits have been added on, it has made the hotel like a rabbit warren, with lots of corridors, lifts, corners to go through until you come across your room. Having 3 floors with numbers all starting with 1 is v confusing!!! The breakfast was v nice, we all had a really delicious omelette made to order-yum! We used the pool facilities and whilst we only had a quick dip because there was a class going on which meant...
