"The staff here really saved our trip! We had rented a car in Christchurch for our South Island portion of our trip and unfortunately had a screw wedge into our tire. "The situation in a woodland property was nice. The interior was nice , although probably more rustic than luxury. It was good to have an open fire, because the living area was cold without it : perhaps a heat pump as well would be a good idea. We had to get lots more firewood from the woodpile especially kindling as we lit the fire each morning and evening. The living area was quite dark.
