Breakfast was good, dinner was good, grounds and pool area very well kept. The superior room was spacious, clean, and loved our balcony. Stayed for 2 nights, ate our meals there, lounged poolside for the day, and just had a fantastic leisurely time, which is all we had on our itinerary for Weligama! "At the end of our Sri Lanka holiday we decided to spend a bit more on our Unawatuna hotel & were not disappointed. We had large rooms with loads of space, kitchen, really comfy beds, excellent views from our balconies. The staff were helpful & the pool lovely. We did book nicer rooms that some there & didn't eat so can't comment on the food. It's a bit of a walk or a short Tuk Tuk ride to the main tourist area or a beach but that also means it's quiet there."

"It's a fabulous place. Beautiful rooms and the pool is fantastic. Breakfast was lovely, a bit fiddly with the coffee machine but no complaints. I was disappointed having arrived at 8.30pm that the 'all day dining' wasn't available. There wasn't any indication of the closing time on the website for evening meal. Had I known I would have eaten on the way. So perhaps make that clear on any booking in future. "

My room looked out on to a corridor which wasn’t ideal and the sealant around bathroom fittings was black with mildew. "Let's just say, I will definitely return. Clean, design like, minimal hotel. Private access to one of the best beaches in the South. Staff are friendly and the place feels homely.
