"Had high expectations after reading the other reviews and spending almost $1K for two nights here but was disappointed overall. The beach access was nice and the highlight of our stay. Staff was a bit slow and not very helpful and food was ridiculously expensive and nothing special. There are other cheaper options nearby which are worth a look."

"The property is located in a well kept garden next to a small but beautiful beach. Rooms are well kept and relaxing. The staff are fantastic and always willing to accommodate requests. Food was excellent, particularly the Sri Lankan breakfast. The menu has increased and has a great selection of Western and Asian dishes but is quite expensive."

"We enjoyed staying two nights at Sun N Sea in early April. We enjoyed both the view of the beach/ ocean as well as the food. We were able to walk along the beach and into town easily. The manger helped us find a store which sells a computer charger. We had accidentally left ours at home. The beds were very comfortable and we all enjoyed surfing lessons."

"This is a really good option for Unawatuna. It is set above the road (quite busy) and is an oasis of well designed chalets and the main the building. The pool is fantastic. Breakfast is available and we were told by guests that it was very good. The staff are wonderful. Friendly and very helpful. The rooms are spotless. The tuk tuk is always available to get from the front gate - many steps and quite steep if you decide to walk it (I did!). There are two large tortoises and two dogs on site....

"Easy to find on the main road. Hosts daughter who checked me in and showed me around was very friendly. Although travelling solo, I had booked their largest room with kitchenette and it was great. "Large rooms with comfortable bed right on the beach. Easy walking to many tourist shops and many restaurants. Lots of fresh seafood available from these restaurants. Staff was very friendly and eager to help with a smile. The restaurant prepared a seafood grill each night and set tables with candies at the edge of the surf. Breakfast was very good with lots of fruit and an omelette station as well as curry. Can’t go wrong staying here. "

"Nice facility, our room was fairly unique with some fake rock. Our daughter's room had a cool outdoor bathtub. You get great use of two other Thambapanni resorts in the area. Rooms are large and interesting. Very musty. The air conditioner needed to be maintained to keep mildew out. Clothes drying rack, nice bathroom and good breakfast. Super accommodating staff. "We were really looking forward to staying at Green Villa but upon arrival they said there was a problem with the room and they were completely booked so had to book us in a hotel next door. The place next door was dirty and only half as nice. I went back when I saw they had availability the next 3 nights and they were able to put us in a ground floor room (I paid for a balcony) but it was still nice. "Stayed here for 5 nights with my boyfriend and loved our stay! The hotel was absolutely lovely. The staff were friendly, attentive, present and were constantly one step ahead. Breakfast was delicious - fruit, curd and eggs - and very filling. Our room was a good size and clean. I really enjoyed the small touches at the hotel, such as the umbrellas, torch (1 10min blackout), tissues in bedroom, fridge and mosquito plug and net. Amazing boutique hotel

"What an amazing place, 5 star luxury, the hotel grounds are pristinely, you have your own beach (as its difficult to get to unless you have hotel access. Great pool, the food is the best we had in Sri Lanka, they serve different types of Sri Lankan breakfast that you can try, like egg hoppers and sting hoppers with curry and dhal. We stayed in the sea view rooms on the second floor, amazing view of the sea and are huge. The best bit are the guys working there, they cannot do enough for you and make the experience. 10 min walk to Turtle Beach were you can hand feed Green Turtles, 5 mins in a tuk tuk to Unawatuna and 15 to Galle. So huge choice of restaurants and bars. We loved it here, we will stay again when we come back to Sri Lanka. Great value too booked on Hotels.com. Best value we have ever had."

"Simply speaking, one of the best experiences and customer services ever! The property has only 7 rooms, so everything feels very personal. The staff is absolutely excellent in every aspect, and Ajith the manager has done the extra mile for us, helping us to organise activities (yoga and massage), days out and generally speaking being helpful in any possible way. I cannot overstate how helpful and attentive him and the staff have been, with the property in general being at the very top end of the experiences that one could get in Galle. Highly recommended!"

"Enjoyed my stay. The staff are very attentive and friendly. The hotel itself is nice but the rooms are a bit dated. I would consider this a 4 not 5 star hotel. Special shout-out to Subhadra who was fantastic from housekeeping my entire staff. Definitely a highlight. Would recommend this hotel. "

"Why House is a wonderful place to stay in Sri Lanka. It's a beautiful oasis of calm - with a very warm welcome from Henrietta and all the staff and a beautiful setting. Our room was fantastic, perfect for our family with its upstairs area for the kids and beautiful mast bedroom and bathroom. The pool is a fantastic place to relax and swim - and when they switch on the lights at night it's truly magical. We had great food and they staff couldn't have been friendlier or more helpful in helping us with trips to Galle or our airport transfers (even packing us a breakfast for our early departure). Thank you to everyone for a wonderful end of holiday. We hope to see you again soon. "
