"The shower never worked and there was too much sound (music) during the night and early in the morning. The room we choose had a picture with tv but there was none in the room. We also got food poisoning from our dinner. Javier the guy from the reception was nice and the view was great."

"This hotel is an experience in itself. Nestled in a mangrove, the hotel is built on stilted walkways. There are turtles and crocodiles (sometimes), but apparently they do not bother people. You can relax at their restaurant or by the pool or choose to participate in activities such as sunrise kayaking to an island with monkeys, a horseback ride, a walk through their farmland, or a day trip to Livingston. "The hotel is right next to the immigration office. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Carry cash because they do not accept credit cards. ATM mark is 7% in additional to the service charge."

"What a brilliant location, shame the 'honeymoon suite' didn't live up to expectations. Four beds in room, black mould in shower tray, yuck, generally poor condition. Don't get me wrong, eco fantastic but seen much better eco accommodation. Food was excellent, loved meeting people, kayaking, swimming etc and room did have an amazing balcony to watch river/jungle life. Stayed 2 nights & irritated could only pay by cash!!!! Lots young people struggling with this too! Policy hotel.com??? "

"My visit started badly because they had no record of my booking. Only after I showed them my confirmed booking did the receptionist stop trying to make me pay for one of their two remaining expensive rooms and referred to a superior. The place is expensive for its condition, by Guatemalan standards, but OK if you tell yourself you are supporting orphans. (The place is run by an outfit supporting orphans.)
