"Its next to the bus and train station. Easy walk to city center. Many shopping and food and cafe options. Room is quiet. Breakfast was great. And the price was reasonable. "

"Overall stay at Bastion was acceptable but was let down by lack of attention to detail i.e. numerous requests for extra towels and toilet rolls. Also TV did not work and at the end of our stay had still not been resolved ( hotel notified 3 times). No kettle in room and again 3 requests before it was provided."

"The hotel overall was good. However, the restaurant at lunch time service range from terrible to nonexistent. For instance, the first day (Friday), the waitress took our order and disappeared for about 20 minutes, we had to flag another waiter to find out why our drinks had not arrived. He apologized and said the waitress was new, but he took our order and brought the wrong food... On the second day, the restaurant manager escorted us to a table and again we waited to be served and no one...

"Have stayed here many times under different ownerships. Despite always liking the hotel, I think it would be best to have a car. Breakfast staff very friendly and helpful plus a fantastic spread. Dinner though while pleasant a little limited in choice of food and wine. Doesn’t take American Express."
