"Clean. Easy check in. Free parking. Cimfortable double room but the noise of traffic was so loud throughout the night (in end room beside motorway(, thought windiw must be open but checked several times and definitely wasnt. Other than that, pleasant stay."

"Very good location , looking a little tired now. Breakfast was very poor , the sausages had bits of gristle in which was a right out off. Overall breakfast is a 3/10. Parking virtually next door , although no discount offered by the hotel, so it was a little on the pricey side. Location 10/10 overall 6/10 (£156 for the night for one person - Dec 2024) "

In making them affordable for the mass market compromises have to be made and with the Palace Hotel this shows in some of the areas of decor. The ‘Spa’ was a limited experience- a small weights room, an excellent steam room and sauna but the pool was cold and there was no “jacuzzi”. "I liked the hotel we have been here three times in the past 4 months , bit disappointed on this time as there were a few children who were very noisy and the parents didn’t do a thing about it we had to move away from the to be able to here what each other had to say even mentioned to bar staff at the time what a shame had a nice meal though well done "

"The hotel is about a 20 minute walk from the city centre. It is modern well appointed. My room had everything l needed and l especially liked the shower in the bathroom. The buffet breakfast was good, all the staff were helpful and my poached eggs were cooked to order. I stayed for the England women’s football match and the hotel could not have been nearer the ground. I will definitely book again if l am in Sheffield."

"Corridors & hotel room tired e.g. torn wallpaper, scuffed table. Receptionist accused me of not paying for dinner the night before where I had to provide a credit card statement as proof of payment as apparently the till receipt wasn’t suffice & the Waiter didn’t provide a pdq receipt. Fantastic facilities & grounds & felt very festive!"
