"What a lovely surprise, overnight stop on returning to the Midlands from watching rugby in Cardiff. Impressive refurbishment of old historic building to create cosy pub/restaurent with rooms. Atmosphere in evening was super, busy, satff very friendly and cask ale excellent. Food was 5 star both in the evening and at breakfast. (I had a very large flat iron sliced sirloin steak with garlic mushroom sauce grilled to perfection and wife a very agreeable cleanly fried fish + chips in evening...

"This was a delightful gem of a hotel tucked away amongst the green fields just minutes from Usk. Our room was ver comfortable and cosy with lovely furnishings. Don’t be deterred by the motorway as the rooms and pub have double glazing so it is silent inside. Breakfast was cooked to order and included full English. We also had dinner which we enjoyed. The owner and staff were efficient and friendly. We hope to get back! We would certainly recommend it."
