"Hotel is modern hotel and was in a great location to stop over for the weekend to break our longer journey. Room was good size, bed comfy, everywhere was clean & tidy. Reception and housekeeping team were wonderful nothing was too much trouble…. Unfortunately Breakfast all be that it’s free sadly there is room for improvement as this was very limited if your vegetarian, vegan or on a limited diet. On this particular weekend they seemed to not have much left at 8.30am when breakfast was supposed...

"Disappointing stay. Noisy from 05.30 when i suspect staff arrived, radio went on and woke us up. Room was on the small side and everything just looked dated. Soundproofing was non-existent."

"Hotel generally fine, though we had a couple of negatives. 1- we chose the hotel in large part to make use of spa facilities, only to find that restricted hours in the holiday season meant this was not useable for us. 2- our room was part of an adjoining pair. At night a very loud couple of young men opened their adjoining door and continued being noisy. Thankfully, when I opened our door and asked them nicely if they could keep it down a bit, they did."

"Second wonderful stay at the Crown - Fantastic room with rolltop bath, separate shower, lovely big comfortable bed and plenty of space. Very welcoming and friendly staff but beware the stairs! Right in the centre of this beautiful old market town with numerous independent shops, restaurants and pubs, so we'll definitely be back..."
