"This hotel is great choice if you are looking to be in a walkable area. The Sound of Music tour is a 3 min walk away and the old town is about 6 or 7 minutes. The room was clean but a little spartan. The staff are great. Breakfast was a little expensive. We ended up eating at a great takeout place across the street where you can get good coffee, rolls, fruit, yogurt, and sandwiches. "

"This property's view outside is breathtaking, 5 minute drive into town . Walking distance to the market and restaurants . The chalet inside is clean, a sauna inside the chalet, fireplace … just get your firewood at the market . Couldn’t ask for a better place . And to top it off the price is unbeatable for you get . "

"Gerl Hotel is a place not only to sleep while travelling but to spend time in the hotel as well. It has a great resturant and the breakfast was very tasty with a wide variety of dishes. Shame the main spa (which is spectacular) opens only at 11:00 and closes at 20:00. "

"Loved our room with the separate living space with a couch and chair. Beautiful view from the 4th floor. Very comfortable bed and pillows. Nice to have the shutters to close at night. Paid $18EU/person to have breakfast included which consisted of some hot food(eggs, sausage and bacon) as well as cold meats, cheeses, granola. Walk to downtown was approximately 25 minutes but bus service nearby. Would definitely recommend this hotel. "

"Great location, right by the Salzburg train & bus station. This was only a short bus ride into the ‘old town’. Area around hotel felt safe. Rooms are in need of refurbishment but still quite adequate. Bath room needs improvement as shower is within the bath & could be an issue for some people to use. Otherwise, I loved it and would stay again. "

"This Hotel is wonderful from the views to the great staff and wonderful service and the rooms are very clean. It’s 20 mins away from Salzburg and 50mins away from Hallstatt so you can get to both and the restaurant was great definitely recommend this hotel."

"This was our second time staying here, first time was 10 years ago. It is still great, best location for getting around old town. Breakfast is delicious and the staff are always helpful. "
