"I want to start off by saying I had a nice visit, I did the half board option and the food was plentiful and very tasty. Lots of variety, the sushi was not good and their take on Western food isn't great but the Japanese food is awesome. 2 different Onsen areas that alternate gender daily so you can try both. "Overall enjoyed our stay but there were a few small things that could have made our stay more fulfilling. The entire place is made kids friendly which was really touching and is a welcome attitude given we are a family with 2 kids. "Wonderful ryokan-style hotel. Stayed for 2 nights with half-board, and the meals (dinner and breakfast) were excellent. The staff were attentive and engaging, taking the time to introduce the dinner menu to us. Chose this place for my children's first ski experience. Just a 30-minute drive to Shiga Kogen where all the ski resorts are. The hotel offers both indoor and outdoor onsens. Simply superb for a hot, relaxing soak after a day on the ski slopes. "Staff were very nice in welcoming us on arrival. It was snowing heavily so greatly appreciate that . But no one to help us with luggages when leaving the next day. Huge contrast ; is it only will help if snowing! Convenient to go to onsen and enjoy it! Staff not fluent in English. We had an emergency and the help they gave was quite limited. Food was ok but have to pay for your coffee & tea if you want it for breakfast. Maybe the meals they provide are traditional Japanese ! "
