"We stayed at the English Inn for 3 nights while in Charlottesville to meet friends. We were extrememly pleased with the cleanliness of our room and the rest of the facility even though they are doing some remodeling. The shower was very powerful and the hot water came on quickly which we loved! The breakfast area was very large with a wonderful buffet - the best we have had at any hotel! The staff is very helpful and friendly (thanks James & Erica!) and Scott the Manager is on top of all duties...

"The hotel was lovely, and the room was one of the nicest that we have had anywhere. The only complaints are not with respect to the hotel but rather with the independent service , Expedia, that arranges for the hotels. The administration at Expedia misleads customers into believing that one is arranging for rooms with the hotel directly. "I'm not sure why the property is rated closer to an 8, but we had a very good experience. There were a couple of glitches with the heat, but the room cooled off while we went to dinner. $20 pet fee."

"The breakfast was not well managed/maintained. Seemed like they threw a mass of food out and then didn’t think they should have to replenish it. Other places, put some out and refill as it gets low; so that the food doesn;t get over cooked, stuck together or soggy. Otherwise, it is a pleasant stay."

"The hotel, located within blocks of the university, was perfect for my visit. The hotel was extremely clean and a friendly welcome at the front desk. Train did wake me but added a quaint touch to my experience. Picked the hotel for its unique feel and funky vibe. Loved it and would go back - within my budget. Thank you for a relaxing stay in Charlottesville."

"Such a lovely B & B. The hosts are so sweet. We had the Peaches & Cream room which was beautifully decorated. There is a full kitchen available to the guests & a French press, whole bean coffee & grinder in the room along with a fridge. Just be aware, if you want breakfast, you need to let the hosts know ahead of time & it’s $20/per person. I will say it was well worth it! The breakfast was delicious!"
