"Arrived early greeted by lovely lovely young lady on reception (she is a credit to the hotel) we had a drink and snacks in the bar. Again lovely attentive staff. Cannot fault the staff or communal areas. Room comfortable and warm. Thank you "

"Same day booking for night away from home. Overall ok, no frills accommodation. £5 for parking. Efficient check in. Clean small basic room, clean but small bathroom. Nothing fancy but ok for overnight stay. Bar menu very minimal thefore chose to eat elsewhere. Drinks in the bar later again ok prices and service ok. Harder than my preference bed, and only one pillow and no spares. Nice blackout curtains and easy to use thermostate to set temperature. Can't fault room for price. Clean and...

"Only stayed one night, but really enjoyed stay. We arrived early in the morning and although we could not book in till 3 we were allowed to park in the car park. Although parking costs £10 it was worth it as we didn’t have to pay or find parking elsewhere when we spent the day in the town. Easy to walk into town. Hotel is really nice, lovely old building. Spotlessly clean. Staff friendly and helpful. Don’t know what the bad reviews are about. Don’t let them put you off. "

"Booked for latish airport arrival. Friendly welcome at reception and bar and good parking. Room was large and comfortable but mattresses were soft and had perhaps seen better days. Whole hotel was cosy and warm for a winter stay. Breakfast was excellent, good choices and friendly service again with an added view of the lake and surroundings. Would definitely stay again."
