"I want to start off by saying I had a nice visit, I did the half board option and the food was plentiful and very tasty. Lots of variety, the sushi was not good and their take on Western food isn't great but the Japanese food is awesome. 2 different Onsen areas that alternate gender daily so you can try both. "The room was spacious, with high ceilings and large windows. We stayed for one night, and it was comfortable. The dinner was just okay, but the breakfast was delicious. The only downside is that the men's and women's onsen baths didn't switch, unlike other onsen hotels I've stayed at. This hotel has a more Western style It's not a traditional onsen ryokan. "Overall enjoyed our stay but there were a few small things that could have made our stay more fulfilling. The entire place is made kids friendly which was really touching and is a welcome attitude given we are a family with 2 kids. The breakfast spread was quite good but had very limited vegetarian options - again the kids section there was really awesome! Rooms were quite clean but a bit smaller than anticipated, the toilet exhaust was a bit low or not working which made it a bit awkward....

"I had an amazing stay at Kanemidori. The ryokan is centrally located and the building and rooms are in great condition.
