"The Iowa House is closing soon and it's obvious that there has been reinvestment into the property in quite some time. Everything about the hotel seems to be outdated and is in need for updating or repair -- which obviously isn't going to happen with the hotel closing. So, with that, the service is excellent and the location is ideal. The $300ish dollars a night seems fair considering market alternatives. Just know that the place is pretty worn down. "

"Overall property and room were nice and clean. The beds are fairly comfortable. The staff are friendly and helpful. The parking ramp is conveniently tied to the hotel, and within walking distance to restaurants making driving unnecessary. The few drawbacks were noise related: the air conditioners are fairly loud when they kick in, but may be used to help drown out the second noise related issue: noise from other rooms which seem to be carried through shared vents. "I love the Element Hotels and always check to see if there is one when I travel. However, this room was very small. The TV was positioned so you could only see it from the bed. Not the most comfortable spot to sit and watch TV. I had to move the table and desk chair when I ate so I could watch TV. staff were less than helpful when I had a problem with the WiFi. Luckily I figured it out on my own. "
