"Nothing 'panoramic' about this hotel....the hotel description stated a terrace which doesn't exist and we were chastised when we asked for access to it and were told by staff that we shouldn't rely on third party vendors for accurate descriptions. (I have never encountered issues with Hotels.com descriptions in the past and relied heavily on them). We were a little disappointed with the condition of the hotel.....needs some TLC and perhaps a little more thought to dust control and cleanliness....

"We loved our stay at hotel dei Capitani, would highly recommend. Montalcino is famous for truffles, wild boar, wine, and beautiful views, especially from this hotel. It is on top of a mountain and in the country so you can expect to see bugs in your room like spiders, mosquitos, stink bugs, but they are mostly all harmless and more of a nuisance than anything. When looking for food to eat I recommend “Il Moro SNC di pellegrini Alessandro”, extremely clean kitchen, family run, delicious homemade...
