"Hotel is located on a hill overlooking the valley - wonderful sunrise views. Property is well maintained and rooms/bathrooms well appointed. One issue for us - we may have been placed into an accessible room - the bathroom light was tied to the door of the bathroom opening - there was no way to control the light other than the door (I asked). If you use the bathroom at night, and do not want the light to come on - you had to pull your key out of the main switch at the wall which cut all power...

It's a short walk into town and the Christmas market, or you can walk along the canal, or even head into the hills for a hike which we took advantage of on a couple occasions. "We booked this small hotel without knowing the area. Philippsburg is not the most popular stopping place for tourists, but we liked it for it's authenticity and quiet. We walked around the village and the nearby lake and the surrounding forests were wonderful."
