"When we arrived the old man at the desk had trouble finding our reservation. He did not speak any English, and my Thai is not very good. He called another woman who spoke a little bit of English and who helped him find our reservation. The hotel is older, but the room was clean enough. The beds were quite hard, and there was space between the doors, allowing mosquitos inside. The location is quite out of the way. If you don't have your own transportation, I don't recommend staying here. ...

"Huge modern hotel with large rooms for 680 baht. Strong WiFi (each room has its own router) and friendly staff. Wide choice for breakfast. As a vegetarian I was able to have toast, fried eggs and fresh fruit. Everything else had meat or meat products. Location is very central. Bear in mind the walls in the hotel are super thin. There was ‘adult activity’ going on next door day and night, and I could hear everything. Which wasn’t great."

"The staff were helpful, one of us left an item behind and the staff contacted us straight away to advise. The rooms are dated, served the purpose we needed it for as we wanted to sleep before travelling further. Food for someone in England I wouldn’t be able to eat. With some improvements / renovation this resort could be improved drastically. "

"The location of this hotel is ideal if wanting to travel to or from Chumphon train station (you can also book bus and boat tickets near the station), however, the hotel doesn't have much else going for it. It is a large, old fashioned, grubby hotel that looks like it hasn't been looked after since the 80's. The halls reminded us of the prison cells you see in the movies! The receptionist wasn't aware of our online booking and offered the room to us a lot cheaper before we told her we had...

"Charming hotel, we were upgraded to a sea view room. Quiet rooms. Complimentary buffet continental and cooked breakfast on top floor overlooking the sea was nice. "

"Hotel was charming with a unique decor - staff very accommodating and friendly. View wonderful and a homey feel with the two dogs that were present. Only concern was that air conditioner was working to full potential in the room I stayed in for one night. I would highly recommend the De Sea Almond Hotel in Chumphon , Thailand."
