"We had a lovely stay at Casa de Vista Alta in Mindo. It's a gorgeous property in a stunning location, high up on a hill, surrounded by a bird-filled cloud forest. "Important: This hotel is now called the Tagara. It is tough to find things in Ecuador and having the wrong name on the signs does not help. This locale is beautiful, the pool gorgeous, and the staff, especially the general manager, Bernard, are wonderful. But this is more of a corporate retreat in style. However, a great escape from Quito or a great place to spend a night when making the drive from the coast to Quito. For Westerners I think the nightly stay with included meals is a fair price....
