"This hotel is somewhat under construction so the living room is not set up well but the staff is excellent, the breakfast options were good (with real cappuchino - not from a machine!) and there is an elevator so we didn't have to lug suitcases up a stairway. The bed was comfortable and housekeeping came in every day. Front desk and breakfast staff were very helpful with suggestions for restaurants, markets and a barbershop!"

"The hotel texted us the day we were arriving and told us they made arrangements for us to check into a different hotel. No explanation or apology. The other hotel was not on the beautiful island of Ortigia, but by the train station (not a great area). We were very disappointed. It was also hard to find a contact number for hotels.com to help with the situation. The hotel we sayed at was ok, but not quite the magical vacation we were expecting."

"Amazing location. Bed linen and bathroom were very clean and bed comfortable but a lot of dust under the bed and on top of cupboard. No kettle. It is located adjacent to a restaurant so very noisy at the weekend evenings. But good value for money."

"Great location and view of the water in this old hotel with poor plumbing (used toilet paper cannot be flushed and is put in a small garbage can beside the toilet). Breakfast (1 croissant and 1 coffee) served in bistro around the corner from the hotel. Staff didn't know name of bistro (Anglo Snack). Reception staff (owner?) sitting in a darkened area behind a high counter in the front area of this first floor walk up was not a welcoming sight."
