"Overpriced but fabulous location for one night. Think travelodge before renovations. I was a female solo traveller and it suited my plans and felt safe. "I stayed for six nights - an older, solo traveler. I was greeted warmly by the owners, and I found all the staff members I had contact with to be friendly, helpful, and informative. I also found the other guests to be cheerful and interesting, no doubt an outgrowth of Pensao Mirasol's atmosphere, when we interacted in the dining area. I'll stay there again the next time I'm in Funchal."

"We had a wonderful stay at Escarpa and it served as our perfect home base to head out and explore the island.
