"This was a great place to stay for two nights when visiting Cardiff to watch the rugby with family. We had two apartments; they were brilliantly located, extremely functional and clean - which is exactly what we needed them to be. Luxury apartments they are not - and the price was very high because it was an international match weekend. But I’d definitely recommend as a base to stay and hang out. "

"The outside of the hotel looks very run down, the rooms are clean, comfortable beds, however, the corridors need updating and redecorating, lovely dining room and the staff are excellent 5 stars for dining room and staff, excellent staff at the reception area too. All in all we had a lovely weekend don’t let the outside put you off "

Good selection for breakfast - cooked, continental, omelettes, pancakes. Would definitely recommend Maltsters Arms, and would stay here...

"Lovely location easy walk to the city centre and lots of nice places near by for food and drinks. Beautiful traditional building with fabulous attention to detail, we loved our stay and would recommend this hotel. Lovely welcome in reception, easy check in and breakfast was perfect and fresh. "

"Kevin and the team are great, happy to help however they can. The food is very good as are the drinks. The en suite bathroom had a great shower, fluffy clean towels and was nicely laid out. The bed was clean and comfortable. We stayed for two nights and both agreed the only thing to change were some of the carpets. We didn't sleep, eat or shower on the carpets though, so it wasn't a game changer. We would definitely stay again, thank you Kevin and the whole team."

"My first time here, friendly staff however the place could do with a complete update, the restaurant area in particular was quite dates, sticky tables, worn out chairs and dull decor, the gym and pool areas were pleasant as was my room."
