"We stayed in the hotel to attend a Christmas party at another venue therefore did not eat so can not comment on the food. It is an old hotel in an old building. Yes it is a little quirky, its full of character and it is showing its age a little. Its in a great location. I can not fault the attitude and enthusiasm of the staff and I do believe it is good value when you consider the cost of other hotels in the immediate proximity. We would stay again. "

"I decided, very last minute, to use a hotel as we were celebrating a friend's birthday nearby. I had been given a room on the top floor, but there wasn't a lift and I have a knee problem, so I was swiftly swapped to a ground floor room. The room was excellent value for money. Even though the hotel is only rated 3*, it had an iron and ironing board, tea and coffee, a TV, a safe, free wi-fi, laundry service, and a gorgeously comfortable bed. It was also a nicely quiet room with an excellent level...

"We stayed 2 nights, visiting family for a pre Christmas get together. And whilst we didn't spend a lot of time at the hotel, when we were there the staff were friendly and helpful, the room was clean and warm and the breakfast excellent. "

"This was a short overnight stay. The hotel is very clean with ground floor being a large public bar with new function suite and Indian food offer to rear. Theres a fair sized old fashioned restaurant too. Rooms are clean and well maintained, lovely full English breakfast served quickly . Very polite owner and staff - all in all good value"

"Check in was great. The hotel itself very clean, tidy and staff accommodating. However, no tea bags in room or decaf coffee. Furthermore the kettle was completely frothed up with limescale and filter was missing from spout, totally unusable. Electric light above bathroom mirror faulty and therefore could not use the electric shaver point attached, this was very disappointing!"
