"This was a great hotel, in that it was old, and rustic in a good way. Lovely setting by a brook. The food was excellent. Good friendly bar area. Open fire, very dog friendly. The beds and bed limen and showers were very clean and comfortable. Just bits of dust on the skirting and a bit tired in places. Rooms had tea and coffee and a welcoming snack for both people and their pet friends Would definitely stay again . "

"One night stay en route to Whitby 2 rooms booked. We were greeted with a friendly welcome and shown to our rooms. Rooms were very spacious and clean and had all we required. We went down to the bar for food and drinks the food was very good and enjoyed by the three of us. We enjoyed the evening with the locals and our host who made us all feel very welcome. Room was spacious and cosy, Food was amazing and exciting, always great seeing a full restaurant. Good selection of beers and I think I counted 42 bottles of gin tantalise the taste buds. Breakfast was plentiful and relaxed. Having my dog with me, the hotel is very dog friendly and a lovely welcome pack with them in the bedroom and breakfast bowls by the tables. I can’t recommend...
