"Staff and rooms were excellent - only disappointment for me was no alternative pillows- they were feather filled and to soft for me I prefer a firmer one - also a lot of building work going off nearby which isnt anything to do with the pier house but consequently it looks very untidy and denies access to the pier itself ! "

"The staff were really friendly and very helpful. Everyone was so welcoming to us and my dog. The room was spacious and warm. The bar was funny, playing Coronation Street on the big TV on Friday night was an unexpected vibe! The pool, sauna and steam room were lovely and warm, clean and inviting. However the changing rooms could do with an update! And no coffee machine working for morning coffees or espresso martinis was gutting! The grounds were lovely with a little woodland walk to take the pup...

"Absolutely amazing. A fantastic location, wonderful atmosphere. A last minute booking and we hit the jackpot! A little gold nugget, hidden in Cornwall. Staff were 10/10. Nothing was too much. "Stayed here for 2 nights along with our 2 dogs. For the price we weren't expecting much, but we were pleasently surprised. Quick check-in staff very friendly, room was a bit dated, but was well looked after, clean and tidy. The bathroom was in good condition and spotlessly clean. Free parking on site is a bonus. Only slight moan is the add on costs for dogs, £8 per dog per night. Now I totally get a cleaning charge as dogs can and do create a bit more mess than 2 adults, however a one of...

"Loads of parking and friendly very comfortable hotel. Rooms large with tea/coffee facilities in room. Bathroom had a large deep bath and a separate shower. Lovely view over the golf course. Reception very friendly but staff in restaurant not fully attentive had had to go and get menus myself even though we had been seated 10 mins earlier. Food itself was fantastic. Morning breakfast staff really attentive and food selections and quality very good. Overall a lovely hotel. "

"Very friendly staff. Great value for money. Traffic noisy due to location but this is not a criticism, but earplugs may be useful if you are not used to city living and rush hr noise in the morning. Property is old, creaky and charming with good facilities."

"I stayed here for 2 nights with my family and booked last minute. Location was great and it was a clean and comfortable stay. If you have any mobility issues however, I wouldn't recommend as we stayed at the top which had narrow steep stairs. Other odd quirks were there was not one bowl in the room or kitchen. Also we booked for 3 people and arrived to a room with a fold out and had to find the bedding. We found a fitted sheet available (but didn't fit the fold out couch properly) and a blanket...
