"Stayed in the family room which was great, spacious, more than just one big room and with a huge bathroom ( photos attached ). Nice little touches in the room such as bottled water, biscuits, etc. A bonus that we were able to take our dog. Everything in the hotel was well thought out. "We stayed here as a couple but also as part of a larger family group, including my niece and nephew (12 and 8 respectively). Our room was the Illingworth room. It was huge, facing out across the road to the lovely old church. Road noise was minimal and the bed extremely comfy with good pillows which were not too soft, perfect for us. We slept well. En suite was well laid out and tastefully decorated. A few hangers were on a rail for our clothes and a hairdryer, iron and ironing board were also...

"A fabulous place to stay. Lovely sitting room never saw anyone use it would be much better utilised as a laundry ! We have been traveling for a week and would have been great to be able to get some clothes washed . Also heating was a bit of an issue no heaters on this morning and it was 1 degree !! There is a fan heater supplied and a blanket but the room then becomes stuffy . Great location and very clean but pack a hot water bottle 😊"

"I received a really warm welcome. The hotel even changed my room so I could have a bath. The pub downstairs has a nice atmosphere. As you have to expect from an old building above a pub, you do get a little noise from the other rooms. Overall, excellent value for money and would stay again. "

"A very welcome overnight stop on our way to the Lake District - not too far from the M6 but in a beautiful part of the country. The room was very comfortable and the hotel was charming - a peaceful village location with lovely views of the surrounding countryside. We enjoyed a great evening meal and the breakfast was very good. Definitely would return if heading to that area again."
