"Friendly staff, superb quality breakfast (smoked salmon with hollandaise on muffin, and a cooked breakfast for my husband). Exterior was very American motel and the place would benefit from an upgrade. However, we thought it was reasonably good value, we could park outside our room, the central area was warm and inviting in feel, bed was very comfy and the room was warm. "Interesting first stay at Grand Hotel Hartlepool i am sure once it was a very plush hotel but starting to look a bit tired these days most annoying was noisy plumbing which did wake me up sometimes but staff were all very friendly and moved me after problems with my tv and Internet "

"Looked after extremely well. Not certain about the lack of amenities in the double room for disabled people. Nowhere to hang bathroom robes or wash bags and for a non-disabled person the wash basin was extremely low, small and difficult as an older person to use. "
