"I have had the opportunity of staying at this Haka House a few times and the staff is always so kind and helpful. The cleanliness is almost impeccable. I must say I did not enjoy my stay in a mixed 8 people dorm as much as the female 4 or mixed 4 or even the 2 person dorm because of the unbelievable lack of respect of so many people concerning night time noise, odours, lack of hygiene, having the sound and notifications on their phones loud all evening and night long. "Let’s start with the positive, the view to the lake and mountain was spectacular. Room was spacious and were able to make our meals in the room. Though situated on the main road, couldn’t hear the cars. Could update shower head. Fix the dripping toilet. The constant slamming noise of the fire doors at all hours was frustrating. "Good location, very convenient to walk to town centre. It would be nice if there are additional basic items such as salad bowl, non-stick pan and a bottle of diswashing liquid. Otherwise, it is a very nice apartment with good laundry facility."

"The room we had was nice and furnished well. They charge per person in the room and our 3 year old is considered an adult. There is a shuttle service to town which is nice. It fills up fast so book ahead. A brewery is close by and on a scenic river. The NZ police decided to setup a check point on the road out front just past the park.
