Blackhouse Guesthouse

3.5 star property
3.0 out of 10, (2)
"Not as we imagined. Thinking a guesthouse as in the title thought would be welcoming…. Said breakfast included, it isn’t. You get 1 v small milk carton and teabags. Prob great for a group but squashed dead insects on the door of the loo, dust behind the doors and just felt like staying at a grandmas house without the welcoming grandma….we sent a message to the owner on arrival as a lock safe entry and 2 days later no response. Up to you but not for us, disappointed "

Travelling by car gives you the most freedom. This is the case anywhere, but in New Zealand you definitely need a car to explore the most beautiful, remote landscapes. It gives you the freedom to get up at 5 in the morning (like we did here) and witness the mist clearing from the valleys.
