When checking in Alison on reception was really kind, telling my husband he could go back to the hotel and use their facilities even after check out. She even loaned us her own usb plug overnight so we could charge our devices. We have known the hotel for years, my husband went to King Edward’s school across the road, and I used to stay on business in the 1980’s and 90’s. "I always enjoy staying here - nice location, friendly staff, quirky rooms, nice pub downstairs. Be warned that this is not a standard, generic hotel! An older building with "character", which I enjoy but others may not. Would not be good if you have mobility issues: lots of stairs (even in the rooms), small elevator, baths difficult to enter/exit. Internet OK but spotty in some locations. Walls are fairly thin (you can hear your neighbors talking) but I've never heard the pub patrons, even...

"Great value for money. From a personal point of view it was far too warm, heating on constantly (must cost a fortune) had to sleep with my window open all night but the bird song that woke me was stunning. For what i needed for 1 night it was fine."

"We really enjoy our 3 night stay at this premises. Highchair and cot were provided for our little one, and all the basics too. There’s a lift and, the apartment was clean and in really good condition (basics wear and tears). Very well located and we would definitely recommend this to family and friends. Overall 4.5/5"
