"So happy to have found this boutique hotel for the last day in Srilanka. The sushi restaurant had no digital menu on their IG account and had a very long wait time for orders but presuming that's because it was very quiet not many guests... Aside from that, beautiful experience in Hikkaduwa!"

Our room (Jasmine) had a direct panoramic view of Bird Lake and we saw many different species of birds as well as small animals including chipmunks, water monitors, geckos (and a cobra one one day but soon banished by the staff...). "Haritha villa and spa is an extraordinary hotel. I spent 3 nights there with my wife and two children aged 13 and 11. It is set in beautiful green surroundings just 5-10 minutes from the coast. There are only 9 quite secluded villas. We stayed in the second largest one with private pool. We had half board. The food was absolutely amazing! A la carte menu with great choice and fresh sea food. There is a spa on site which look fantastic. We used the small gym there. The staff are very friendly....

"The location was perfect! However, the cleanliness of the hotel rooms was inadequate. The hotel needs to pay more attention to detail. The bathrooms were moldy and smelled like urine, the towels were dirty and the bed sheets were discolored. There was dust and dirt in the rooms that you know have not been cleaned in months... The staff were polite and attentive. The hotel has so much potential because of the location if only it was cleaner. "

"Kalla Bongo is a beautiful lakeside resort that offers a calm and serene alternative to the hectic Hikkaduwa beach area. The beach is still very close and accessible but it's nice to go back to a more secluded environment at the end of the day. The staff is incredibly kind and helpful and eager to do whatever they can to make your stay a pleasant one. Would definitely stay there again if I'm back in the area. "

"A gorgeous spot a little back from the beach (about 1km) but walkable, and easy to get tuktuks. No frills rooms that were delightful. Super friendly hosts who are very familiar with the area and can offer advice and recommendations if needed. The most fabulous breakfast selection each morning, always with variation. Would love to return and totally recommend this spot. "
