"Loved this property. It’s set in such a beautiful location. We choose a room with a private onsen, set on a balcony overlooking the mountain. It was quite an experience soaking in the tub watching the snow come down. The dining experience was great and food was delicious. Staff were friendly and welcoming. "

"The hotel had hot springs for the guest to use and the room was large, plenty of space to walk around which is not typical for most Japanese hotels. Room also had plenty of storage space and even had a patio looking over the waterfront. It's not a clear view of the waterfront but it's something. "

"After missing the last bus and a 30+ minute walk from the station, relaxing a hotel never felt so good. In terms of design, it looked like an older hotel. It was clean and suited my needs. I booked a non-smoking room and the staff did their best to get rid of the smoke smell. However, it was still there after my last night but it didn’t bother me. "

There is good hiking around the town although the info available from the tourist office is quite limited for those speaking English. The Not So Good: The room I had, although quite spacious, was not very practical. A single thin futon bed was in the middle of a otherwise largely empty space.
