"Decent place for a short stay. Parking can be a pain as there is no on-site parking, although you can park for free between 8PM and 8AM at the train station car park, otherwise it is a 5-10 min walk to the nearest multi storey car park. There was distinct smell of cannabis towards the front of the hotel!"

"This is one of the oldest hotels in Scotland. The room ws excellent. Bed comfortable. I couldn't get water temperature right, but hit water definitely available. I had breakfast, which was buffet style in Georgian style room. Traditional hot breakfast. Porridge was excellent! I had dinner in the Reid Room. Good selection and good selection of Gins! 12 minute walk from train station. Hotel near River."

"Generally fine, although I tried to ask many times and our booking was for 4, there was not an extra bed on arrival. However this was quickly resolved as they added a bed. We were the only people at breakfast the next morning and the lady was very nice. 8 particularly liked Vegetarian breakfast with veggie haggis!"

"Excellent location for our needs. Clean, quiet and warm. Staff welcoming and friendly. In particular John who checked us in, getting a warm, helpful welcome, sets the tone for the whole stay. Also, Emma who was friendly and helpful. Location maybe good, room maybe nice, but it is the staff that make the difference. 5 stars for the staff, thank you."
