"Spent the day in Edinburgh and needed a place to stay, this place Falkirk turned out to be a real gem. Easy to find 30-40mins from Edinburgh. The room a large double was BIG and had loads of space. A great surpise. Nice clean and tidy slept like a baby, despite a party going on in the function room. "Arriving late on a dark evening, it looked unwelcoming - but the lass on reception made up for that! The room was large and warm, with wooden furniture, and the "curtains" were wooden shutters: it felt friendly. Characterful: the ceiling must have been about 4m up, an a bit of box trim (proably hiding pipework) made a useful seat or low shelf. Everything worked. The station was a 5 minute walk, town centre likewise. I'd go back if in the area again."
