"This is one of the oldest hotels in Scotland. The room ws excellent. Bed comfortable. I couldn't get water temperature right, but hit water definitely available. I had breakfast, which was buffet style in Georgian style room. Traditional hot breakfast. Porridge was excellent! I had dinner in the Reid Room. Good selection and good selection of Gins! 12 minute walk from train station. Hotel near River."

Would be good if the hotel had a little info in the plaque explaining why he spent so much time in Dundee. The fella seemed to get about, but the interesting to know what he was up to regardless "
