"A nice hotel in a great location about 30 minutes walk from the city centre. A good clean, quiet room. One criticism, the buffet breakfast was poorly stocked and the cooked breakfast was cold."

"Bed had a concave sagging mattress. Room hot with only a fan opened window too loud from wedding. Fan turns off if you leave room. Shower gel in shower empty. Large hotel but put non wedding guest directly opposite wedding with open patio doors. "

"I will always stay at the Queensgate when travelling to Peterborough. The staff are always friendly and they go out of their way to accommodate all your needs. It seems to be standard practice for them."

"Spacious modern room with a superking bed. Only one chair in the room.Would have liked a seating area.Staff were fantastic. Food was very good and reasonably priced.Would definitely stay here again."

"Nice place. Had a massive room, dated but that's in keeping with the place. Breakfast is good, and some staff friendly at breakfast. Evening meal on site not that great for the money. Didn't use the spa, so can't comment, looked ok when walked past it. My TV in the room was broken. If within budget worth going again. Parking is free which is a bonus. Fairly quiet area. "

"Our room was clean and spacious. We booked a room for 2, but only provided 1 bath towel. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The on-site restaurants were convenient and served a delicious full English breakfast. Overall, we had a good experience. "

"This is a super hotel in the heart of Grantham. Having flown in from the US and wanting an early check in, I was told no rooms were ready. When pressed, receptionist said I could pay $10 an hour for early check and hey presto a room was suddenly available... I found this very disappointing and distasteful customer experience. "

"The stay was a pleasant one in a twin bedded room. The Black Horse in very pleasant and quiet surroundings and ample parking. I wish they could have served dinner a bit later so we could have eaten there. Staff very friendly and helpful"

"The room that we stayed in was huge and had everything that we needed. It’s a shame that they don’t offer breakfast as we had an evening meal in the bar which was lovely. Couldn’t check in until late afternoon which was also a shame but thankfully it was a dry day and we could take a walk along the river and village - could they not set up some sort of keysafe check in system so could at least get into the room (other places that we’ve stayed at have done this and it worked well but completely...

"Beautiful setting, so tranquil and calm. We were on a cycling adventure when we stayed at this wonderful hotel. The staff were caring and professional, they found us a secure inside space to park our bikes, which left us free to relax and not worry about the security of them. We had a lovely evening wander around Rutland water( not all the way round, its 17 miles !) Our bed was probably one of the comfiest we had ever slept in. Thanks to everyone who looked after our stay."

"We left the property as everything about the room was unsatisfactory. The landlord was rude, the room smelled long-term unclean, the bed was lumpy, the bedlinen was mismatched and unironed...wasn't sure it was clean. The landlord, David, said he had recently taken it over and had no details from Expedia of who was booked in. He had taken my payment over the phone and declined to give a refund when we declined to stay!"
