"Great stay just outside Hokitika 5mins heading south. Cooking area was a bit spartan with old school hobs which worked ok. Food was nice great portions of blue cod and chips with salad . Friendly staff great location "

"We loved our stay in the Blackhouse Cottage, and wished we could have stayed longer. It was gorgeously appointed and well set out. The beds were super comfortable and we were snug and warm in the cold. So cozy and the perfect place to unwind and relax. We would stay here again and again. "

"Not as we imagined. Thinking a guesthouse as in the title thought would be welcoming…. Said breakfast included, it isn’t. You get 1 v small milk carton and teabags. Prob great for a group but squashed dead insects on the door of the loo, dust behind the doors and just felt like staying at a grandmas house without the welcoming grandma….we sent a message to the owner on arrival as a lock safe entry and 2 days later no response. Up to you but not for us, disappointed "
