"This may have been the nicest place I stayed in Nepal, but I only stayed at a couple other places, and it is 4 star at best. The place itself was nice, but for shower hot water I had to call the desk each day to get them to heat up the water. "I had a bit of a mixed experience. What saved it was the lovely view from the rooftop and breakfast, and some of the staff was outstanding. However, the condition of my bathroom was terrible; it wasn't clean, the window sill was caked with dust, and they constructed a makeshift drainage pipe that leaked onto the bathroom floor and was affixed to the wall, haphazardly and messy, with plaster and handprints. "Such a friendly place. The room was large, with good air con and hot water. It's not luxury but that's not what we expected for the price, and the extra touches such as the homemade soap/shampoo bar and unlimited drunking water were great. The highlights though were how lovely and helpful the staff were, and the breakfast was so good - different hot options every day with always the choice to have toast or waffles as well as fruit and yoghurt. "This is the third time coming to the Nar Bis Hotel and I have never been disappointed. "The room and facilities would have been perfectly good and satisfying, had the price been a bit lower. Instead, the hotel has an air of grandeur that it fails to deliver on. The room I got was small, dark and kind of grotty. The lock barely worked, the Wi-Fi didn’t work at all and the shower was barely adequate. The bed was a bit firmer than I like, too, but I accept that’s a personal preference."
