hotel karuna is an eco-friendly, sustainable choice: thats my favourite part! the staff is super friendly and helpful, the lobby is welcoming with a great asthetic and karuna's breakfast is great! the only place i ever want to stay while in pkr.

Great stay and very helpful staff. Does a lot to try and be as environmentally friendly as possible. Only downside was the water pressure in the shower was severely lacking at times, delivering only a dribble.

The staff were so accommodating and welcoming and I loved the eco-friendly approach too. Walking distance to main shopping area and dinner and also safe and quiet spot. I felt so comfortable here, even as a female solo traveller.

This might just be the best hotel in the world, ever. I’ve done a lot of travelling around Asia and the lovely people that run this hotel absolutely ace it in every way imaginable. I can’t think of a better place I have stayed for this amazing price.

Excellent stay. Only negative was the very rude male night manager who made us feel unwelcome and acted as if we were irritants when asking him questions. The day manager - who was a lovely young lady was just the opposite.

Such a friendly place. The room was large, with good air con and hot water. It's not luxury but that's not what we expected for the price, and the extra touches such as the homemade soap/shampoo bar and unlimited drunking water were great. The highlights though were how lovely and helpful the staff were, and the breakfast was so good - different hot options every day with always the choice to have toast or waffles as well as fruit and yoghurt. Great value as it's included in the room price.

This hotel says it is family friendly… and it is!!! From the welcoming staff that smile and engage with the children, to toys in the lobby for the kids to play with, the management and staff go above and beyond to meet the needs of their guests! The owners are very involved with the daily running of the hotel and you can get real pour over coffee (not instant!!) with breakfast every morning. We highly recommend to anyone traveling with or without children!

I had a wonderful stay at Hotel Karuna! My room and views were such a joy after many weeks of travel. The hotel staff were wonderful and accommodating to my every need and request and the breakfast options were very satisfactory. The location is just off lakeside so it is right in the centre of the tourist area. The only thing I would note is that there is no elevator for older guests (but they do list this and are so helpful carrying your bags) - so just be aware before booking, and the street can get very noisey at night with locals teens partying (but it usually wrapped up around 11pm).
