"Very basic hotel in the middle of nowhere"

"A good central location with parking and friendly staff. Two reservations. First the double room was very small indeed, with no a/c and the conversion had left low ceilings and small windows. We were much too hot. Second the breakfast was only adequate. We weren’t late, but there was very little cooked food left, little fruit (which was over ripe) and nobody around to ask for more or to top up the platters. Our room was compact but beautifully decorated in a traditional french style. We ate in the hotel on the evening, the service and food were lovely. "Travelled to Cambrai for the first time and solo. Really delighted with the hotel - incredible value for money. Comfortable, clean, close to the rail station and close to the main square where all the shops, cafes and restaurants are. Staff were welcoming and helpful although it does help if you can speak a bit of French as only one person speaks fluent English. "Rooms have been modernised, bed comfortable and a quiet location. The stand-out feature is the excellent restaurant with a varied menu and prices and great service and a reasonably priced wine selection. Overall great value. We now always stay here on the way back from skiing in the Alps! "
