"We always write what we did like and what we didn't like so much. Onto the not so much to get to the awesome! The only thing we can think of is we didn't feel as secure as we could have with the room. The windows can't be left open (screens) if you want your items as protected as possible that makes it stuffy and warmer in the room when you are gone. However, staff is around, it's a close knit community, theft would be rare and would probable come from a guest. We DID like the staff, amazing...

"Balsa Surf Camp is like staying with family! It has a wonderful atmosphere, and the location is nice and quiet within a very easy walk to town. For a surfing adventure, everything is at your fingertips and the team are extremely knowledgeable and helpful. I thoroughly enjoyed the daily yoga, thank you to the wonderful instructor Darcy Lynch. I will visit Montanita again, and I wouldn't think of staying anywhere other than Balsa. "

"It's right on the beach in Olon which is the principal attraction, rooms are small but adequate air conditioning works but is a bit noisy and around 6 am I was greeted with what sounded like someone practicing the bass guitar close by. Other than that I would recommend it "

"Owners were very friendly and helpful. This is a family friendly hostal with no partying, drinking, loud music. Made it easy to sleep. Rooms are basic, no AC, no hot water but private bathroom in our room. Bedroom could use fresh coat of paint but everything was clean. For the price it was a great value. Without a car it is likely further from the beach than easily accessible. We had our own car so it was a short drive. We would definitely recommend this hostal."

"There was no hot water, no real curtains in the room. Being a girl alone this was scary at night. my friend actually broke her foot trying to walk down the steep hill. I am happy to provide proof. I didn’t have a blanket. No food or drinks service were provided during the week, only on the weekend. My room smelled like mold. I felt unsafe because the lock wasn’t secure. "

"La Hosteria tiene una vista preciosa al mar y está en la cima de una pequeña montaña. Muy cerca de Puerto López.muy buen servicio personalizado, muy buena comida mañanita, el estado de la habitación es bueno. Mi única recomendación es que sustituyan las cobijas por plumones."
