"I'd never stayed in a ryokan before, but have always heard what it was like. I can confidently say, after being in this one, that ryokans are an exceptional place to relax. The traditional rooms are spacious, has a great views, and sleeping in a futon on tatami is a classic for a reason! The amenities are very nice too, with two whole building's worth of stuff! "Amazing retreat time at Hoshino KAI Nagato. There are programs / activities provided that are light and with small memento takeaway. The dinner and breakfast experiences were phenomenon. Staff are very friendly and capable answering anything. The onsen on-site is healing and the space is very relaxing and clean. A real retreat where mind and body and truly relax."

"This hotel is convenient to go to Shoin Shrine on foot, although it is a steep climb from Shoin Shrine to the hotel. They have a shuttle from and to the station. They also provide baggage pick-up from the train station. The staff are very kind and friendly. Food is great."

The rooms were clean and comfortable, the food was exciting and delicious, and the decor was creative with plants, travel information, and themes of Okinawa. Great for young or independent travelers who like a taste of multiculturalism. My parents in their late 50s also loved it and found it entertaining. Note: the bathroom facilities were a little rugged, if that's important to you."
