"It is an historic hotel with many antiquities in the décoration. The location is perfect near the canal. It is quiet but there is no escalator and the room was on the 5th floor. The beakfast was included and we liked the food. But ithe price for a night is a bit expensive. The owner was a gentleman ."

Unfortunately I felt the condition of the property lacked care as there were several things broken (including the front door lock to the building) and there was a certain smell of vomit in the shower which I messaged the host about and they did not return my message about. "Room was very small, making it virtually impossible to open a suitcase for a change of clothes. Air conditioning was via a portable unit, which had to vent into the corridor. This meant that to have anything like an acceptable temperature in the room, the door had to be left open all night. There is a glass partition between the shower/toilet and the beds, giving very little privacy. However close you are to your travelling companion, you are unlikely to want to be in such close and open...

"Spent two nights here while attending the passchendaele 100 memorial events and I was pleasantly surprised how large and comfortable the room was, especially the bathroom which was huge. Breakfast was excellent with plenty of good quality coffee hot croissant's and fruit bread. We booked an evening meal on the second night and it really was fantastic, the locally produced steak was cooked to perfection and cray fish starters were delicious. This is a family run hotel and it's abundantly clear ...
