"If it is in the very heart of things—the train station, multiple bus routes, all manner of dining options, with a view of Mt. Fuji to boot (though our view was partially obstructed by an electric pole and transformer). It is a bit hard to find, and gave our cabbie a run for his money (we were driving in from another train stop). Better signage is a must! "The good: great location. We had a wonderful view of Mt Fuji right from our room. Close to the sight-seeing bus line. Close to restaurants and department store. Onsen was fun. Neat to have a room with tatami mats and paper window panels. The bad: older building and in places really showing it's age. Staff only speaks Japanese (but Google translate helps with that). I also learned that futon mattresses aren't comfortable for me (my son loved them)."

"The staff are very accomodating and very welcoming. They picked us up from and sent us to the train station for free. They offered us ( 5 people) a ride with a ¥2000 fee to lake kawaguchi. They also offered to pick us up from the Fujikawaguchiko masjid back to the guesthouse for the same rate later that night but they did not turn up . Instead, they told us to get our own taxi as they have picked up another customer. Luckily we got a help from the masjid cafe staff who called a taxi for us. We...

"Perfect location. Just a 2 minutes walk from Kawaguchiko station and a Hoto noodles restaurant. We stayed a night in a private room with shared bathroom and toilet. The whole premise is very clean. They offer bike rental and free luggage storage. Highly recommended!"
