"From tree tops climbing to ice skating, movie theatre to the gorgeous gardens, everything a family wants is at the property. In the middle of the blue mountains we had a fun and relaxing stay. It is a little outdated compared to a city hotel but this resort is perfect for a rural town. We throughly enjoyed our stay. "

"We loved our time at The Kyah, the staff were very friendly and helpful. The dining experience was delightful and the rooms were clean, spacious and appealing. The bed was so comfortable which gave us restful nights sleep during our 6 day conference nearby in Katoomba. We enjoyed the other amenities but especially the hot tub and sauna. Thankful for a very pleasant stay. "

"The Carrington is walking distance from the train and close to everything in Kootomba. The hotel is historic, which means old and needs a bit of a facelift. Some of the staff was outstanding like Shelia, others were just ok. We enjoyed the adjoining restaurant with great food and live music. We even had walked around Scienic World. Overall a good stay 3 Star property that’s very well located. "

"Overnight stay suited us in a good location to shops and restaurants. Bathroom had steps which could be a problem for those with mobility issues but fine for us. Old lift was a bit problematic- slow and didn’t always register. Otherwise, an old hotel with lovely features like a library."

"It’s a step back in time with old fashioned charm and I feel like this hotel is overpriced for what you get, and the $8 room service fee is a bit much considering the price of the menu items. Its clean enough, great views."

"Variable quality of room servicing. Some towels replaced. Some taken and not replaced. Bath soap dispenser empty but not refilled. Bit of a mixed bag. No consistency. And consistency - the same experience, regardless of who is servicing the room - is the key to a high quality stay."

"It was a lovely old building unfortunately it had no air conditioning and it was quite hot. The bedroom was small and taken up with bed and massage chair so no where really to sit. "

"We stayed in a family room and it was great as kids had their own separate section. We only stayed 1 night but it was really good, would stay again if we came back to Katoomba. Place is basic but was clean and comfortable. So no issues at all. "

"I had the King Suite and it was light, clean and airy. It stated mountain views but I had to peer between trees to get a glimpse of rock. It’s more carpark views. I don’t have a problem with the carpark but don’t state mountain views."

"The room was spacious, beautifully decorated, and impeccably clean. The comfortable bed ensured a restful night’s sleep, and the amenities, including a mini-fridge and coffee maker, added to the convenience of my stay. The location is perfect—just a short drive to local attractions, making it easy to explore the area. I also enjoyed the on-site facilities, which provided a lovely way to unwind after a busy day. I highly recommend Lithgow Motel to anyone visiting the area. I can’t wait to return!"

"Historic hotel with 5 fireplaces, superb food, timber bar and just generally a nice family feel, Electric blankets are very warm, sheets crisp and towels very white. Simple breakfast included with nice balconies and north side garden. Went for a short 5 min walk and saw ten kangaroos, Took a great photo of the hotel from the front.but no way to share here. Hope the front balcony damagefrom the wayward car is fixed soon. Finally, we stayed at Royal Capertee on our way to visit the oil shale works and we’re not disappointed with the 2 hour tour."
